Sitting Tensions Solved

So many of us are stuck sitting for the majority of our day. Whether it be in the car or at a desk, we often forget the toll sitting takes on our bodies until it's too late. Here are a few quick, easy things you can do throughout the day to keep your blood flowing.

1- Take a walk during your lunch. Even if it's just to the mailbox. It will get your blood circulating.

2- Do some squats, lunges or jumping jax. You may look a little crazy but you'll feel great!

3- Stretch! Simple neck rolls, wrist stretches, and back twists are all quick and you can do them at your desk. Video courtesy of The Lahey Clinic's Physical Therapists.

4- Self massage! Roll a tennis or golf ball under your feet or back for quick relief.

5- Stay hydrated! Most of us drink our morning tea or coffee but forget to drink water throughout the day. Even mild dehydration can influence our mood, energy, and the ability to think clearly. Dehydration is also linked to muscle and back pain. Keep a water bottle or glass nearby at all times.
